Hong Sang Mu Sa Hapkido
A New Art is Born
In the Fall of 2002 Master Art Mason decided it was time to registered the art that he and his boys had been developing for the last several years. The Name Hon Sang Mu Sa Hapkido, which translates to Ancient Spiritual Warriors Way of Harmonizing Energy. The picture at the left shows the original WBA Registration Certificate. A larger image is available from this LINK[1].
At the same time as this registration, being the founder of a martial art, Master Mason was awarded the rank of 10th Dan, which he turned down. 6th Dan was then settled upon by the WBA Grading Board and Master Master. Currently ranked as 7th Dan Master Mason is the official Grand Master of the art.
Hon Sang Mu Sa Hapkido is an eclectic style, comprised of the various arts that the Mason's have been exposed to over the years. It is heavily influenced by Kuk Sul Hapkido, Kyusho Jitsu, The Natural Laws of movement, the study of the angles and movement in the Octagon (Kosho Ryu), Small Circle JuJitsu, The Cane Master System and Tae Kwon Do.
The art continues to evolve to this day.
