To the left is the certificate certifying Master Mason as an International Instructor. This certificate caused Master Mason to be invited to teach in India. Unfortunately do to timing he was unable to attend. Master Mason currently certifies all his floor instructors at his school. Follow this link [1] to view a large image.

Woman's Self Defense

To the right is the graduation certificate for becoming a Certified Woman's Self Defense Instructor. Note the 100% grading on this course. This comprehensive course was offer by The World Budo Alliance. Follow this Link [2]to view a larger copy of this certificate. The purpose of this course was not only to help teachers provide real self defense skills but to also provide woman with all the tools needed both before and after an assault. Master Mason has since expanded this knowledge and teaches these classes on a continuous basis. He also developed a website[3] to provide information and assistance.

The certificate to the lower left was issued by The Korean Hapkido / Yudo Association in recognition of Master Art Mason 5th Dan Black Belt in Hapkido issued originally in 2000. To view a large image click on the LINK [4] provided. Master Mason is a lifetime member of The Korean Hapkido / Yudo Association and it;s Canadian Representative. The organization currently recognizes him as a 7th Dan Black Belt.

KYA Membership

To the right is the Branch Certificate issued by the Korean Yudo / Hapkido Association. To view a large copy of this certificate follow this LINK[5]. In the last view years the KYA has become the WOMA, The World Martial Arts Association. Their current mandate is to provide testing and certification for those interest in progressing in their art. The organization was founded in 1960 and still thrives today. For more information on this organization you can visit their website[6].

United State Martial Arts Hall of Fame

In 2001 Master Mason was honoured by the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in the classification of Master.

The United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame honors those man and women whom have been recognized for their efforts to advance the traditions and teachings of the martial arts, and for those who have dedicated their lives to instill discipline, confidence and a passion for the arts into the lives of their students around the globe.

The USMAHF was founded by Professor Marty Cale[7]. Others who have been honoured by the USMAHF include Grand Master Mark Shuey, Professor Wally Jay, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Grand Master Jack Stern and many others.

Unfortunately Master Mason was unable to attend this event to receive this honour in person. He was again nominated in 2008, this time in the category of Grand Master. For personal reason he declined the nomination.

World Budo Alliance

In August 2000 Shihan Dave Degrouchie, the Founder of the World Budo Alliance ask Master Mason, a member of the organization and the Technical Representative for Hapkido to become the International President of the World Budo Alliance. He accepted the appointment and was issued this very prized letter from Shihan Degrouchie[9]. Please follow this LINK[10] for a larger image of the letter.

Master Mason held the position of International President for 18 months after which he resigned from the post. The WBA[11] was growing in leaps and bounds and was taking considerable time away from Master Mason's pursue of his learning and teaching martial arts. The WBA flourished and grew to be a large world wide organization. Shihan Degrouchie left the organization to pursue other interests.

Kyoshi Degrouchie in 2006 reformed the organization and changed the name to World Martial Artists Association[12]. Master Mason is currently the Vice-President of this organization.
